v1.2 Out Now - NEW FEATURES & HOW TO...
StaroraX v1.2 » Devlog
Here it is, the current version. I hope it runs smoothly for you. It did for me.
Features:
- If you select populated planets at the beginning, explored planets may already be inhabited. If you send a spaceship there that isn't a combat ship, it will be destroyed. So, select your combat ship in the task tab, choose the combat mission, and then select the enemy in the Special Order field on the right. Now embark on your mission and destroy the enemy. After that, the planet is yours, along with its resources, mines, and refineries. A lucrative deal, right?
- Your propulsion technology is very limited at the beginning. Build research labs and research new propulsion systems to travel faster. However, be sure to pay attention to the ships' energy consumption. If a ship runs out of power en route, it's stranded and (for now) can't be rescued.
- In the Task tab, you can assign your ships a follow-up task, such as returning home after a successful mission. To edit a task, simply click on the ship in the list, select a new task, and click Edit task.
How to start?
- First, look at your resources and build 1-2 mines. Keep in mind that you need at least 1 supply depot for every 8 buildings. At the same time, check out the Assign Leader tab. Here you can assign a leader for your home planet, which will provide a few bonuses.
- Next, you'll build your first ship, a Battleship. After completing the build, go to Assign Crew and let the computer automatically select the best crew (Auto Assignment). Then, go to Ship Tasks and select the Combat Mission task for your ship. Now you can start right away.
- Click Start Mission and plunge into battle. Each flight at warp 1 takes 1 day. Planets and starbases in the sector can be directly targeted. If you target a planet, it is considered "discovered" and will subsequently appear on your galaxy map. Avoid combat for now and then end the mission.
- You can see the newly discovered planet in the Galaxy Map. It also appears on the right in the selection field of your main view. Unfortunately, you can't see anything under Resources yet because the planet hasn't been explored yet. If you have more than one slipway, start building another ship. Otherwise, build a second slipway first. Your second ship will be an Explorer. You don't need to assign a crew here.
- After construction, go back to Ship Tasks and select your explorer. Then, in the task field, click Explore, from: Earth, To: Your new planet. For the follow-up task, select Return home.
Create the task with New Task and select your Galaxy Map again. - In the Galaxy Map, you can now use Time Control to track your ship's flight. Once the ship reaches the planet, a bright circle will form around it (provided it has resources). If you have selected populated planets, a white rectangle may also appear. However, we'll assume the planet is uninhabited for now.
- The minerals on this planet now appear in the Resources tab. Since we currently have neither humans on the planet nor the ability to build buildings there, we first need to mine the minerals in another way. But how? With an automated mine. Under Industry, you build one of these mobile mines. You can only have one on a planet at a time.
- Once the automated mine is built, it needs to be transported to the planet somehow. This can be done with a freighter. So, you'll need to build a new ship. You can then transport the mine to the planet using the Ship Task. Once there, it will immediately begin automatically mining the minerals. You can transport these minerals from planet to planet with a mining ship.
Tipps:
- To operate a proper mine on a planet, at least 50,000 people must be available.
- If you can't build anything on a planet because mineral mining takes so long, transport minerals there first.
- Pay attention to the ship's energy. If you need to refuel, let the ship fly home and complete the task. Then you can refuel under Shipyard.
- Energy is our fuel in the game. It is extracted from solvarin, which refineries convert into energy. Production occurs automatically when you click Start under the Industry tab. This is your energy supply. But be careful not to let the solvarin supply run dry.
